Friendship's Death
A robot envoy is dispatched to Earth to urge humanity to live in harmony. Originally intended for MIT, she ends herself in Amman, Jordan, during the 1970 Black September riots. When she is spotted roaming around without papers after a bombing, Sullivan, a British journalist, comes to her rescue and offers her refuge in his hotel room. But she informs him that she is a robot sent from another planet as a peace ambassador. He's not sure if he believes her account, but he likes her unconventional perspective on the world. In a series of very smart and hilarious dialogues, they explore the human condition.
