Karel Novak is an unbelievably ignorant Czech immigrant who is taken under the wing of streetwise New york city chorus girl Sylvia. With the help of charming cop-on-the-beat Murphy, Sylvia conceals Karel from the immigration authorities as well as eventually falls for him.
