The House on Carroll Street
Emily Crane loses her job as a result of her refusal to provide names to the House Un-American Activities Committee in1951, and she later finds work as a part-time companion for an elderly woman. One day, her attention is drawn to a ruckus that is taking place in a neighbor's house, where the most of the conversation is taking place in German. This is particularly noteworthy given that one of the individuals present is her primary senator prosecutor. She begins to delve into the situation, and while she does so, she progressively enlists the assistance of FBI officer Cochran, who was originally assigned to investigate her.
