A Country Practice

A Country Practice was a drama series that aired on Australian television. James Davern, who had written the pilot episode and entered a script contest for the network in 1979, where he came in third place and won a merit award, was the producer of what was at the time one of the longest-running programs of its kind. The program was initially produced by JNP Productions and was one of the longest-running programs of its kind. It premiered on the Seven Network on November18,1981, and aired until November22,1993, for a total of 1,058 episodes. It was created in the production facility that ATN-7 maintains in Epping, Sydney. After having a lengthy run on the seven network, it was picked up by network ten with a primarily new cast from April to November 1994 for a total of 30 episodes; nevertheless, the ten series did not enjoy the same level of success as its predecessor. In addition, scenes for the series on Channel Seven were shot on site in Pitt Town, and scenes for the series on Channel Ten were shot in Emerald, which is located in Victoria.
