Baccano!

Baccano! is a Japanese light book series written by Ryohgo Narita and drawn by Katsumi Enami. The series is largely set in a fictional United States over several time periods, most notably the Prohibition era, and is typically recounted from multiple points of view. It centers on a variety of characters, including alchemists, robbers, thugs, Mafiosi, and Camorristi who are unrelated to one another. Following the recreation of an immortality elixir in 1930 Manhattan, the characters begin to cross paths, sparking events that spiral out of control. The first novel was published in February 2003 under ASCII Media Works' Dengeki Bunko banner, and as of March 2013, twenty novels had been published. Takahiro Omori directed the sixteen-episode anime television series, which was produced by Brain's Base and Aniplex. From July26, 2007 to November1,2007, the first thirteen episodes broadcast on WOWOW; the remaining three were released direct-to-DVD. The series was also turned into a two-volume manga, a Nintendo DS adventure video game, and two drama CDs. An additional novel was issued with the first drama CD, and two gaiden novels were released in installments with the anime adaptation's DVDs.
