Earth: Final Conflict
Earth: Final Conflict is a science fiction television series that was produced in Canada under the direction of Gene Roddenberry's widow, Majel Barrett-Roddenberry. The show is based on plot concepts that were developed by Gene Roddenberry. After his passing, it was not made, filmed, or shown on television until much later. It premiered on October 6, 1997, and ended on May 20, 2002, after five seasons on the air. It was originally going to be called Battleground: Earth, but the producers decided to change it because they thought it was too similar to the name of a novel written by L. Ron Hubbard called Battlefield Earth. Majel Barrett-Roddenberry acted in the capacity of executive producer. Additionally, she played the role of Dr. Julianne Belman in some episodes that aired early on. Barrett was in possession of notes that Roddenberry had saved containing ideas for stories and shows; after Roddenberry's passing, these notes served as the foundation for this series.
