Meteor Garden
Meteor Garden is a 2001 Taiwanese Play starring Vanness Wu, Jerry Yan, Vic Zhou, Barbie Hsu and Ken Chu. It relies on Western sh?jo manga show, Boys Over Flowers, written by Yoko Kamio. It directed by Cai Yuexun and was produced by Comic Ritz International Production with Angie Chai as manufacturer.
The show was initially broadcast in Taiwan to free-to-air Chinese Television System on 16 April 2001 from 12 August 2001. An additional miniseries, Meteor Rain was stated in April 2001 and the sequel Meteor Garden II was broadcast from 11 November 2002 to 25 December 2002. The show is the initial television adaptation of this manga, followed by its sequel Japanese Hana Yori Dango and Meteor Garden II, its own sequel Hana Yori Dango Returns along with South-korean Boys Over Flowers.
At the series' close, F4 Jerry Yan, Vic Zhou, Vanness Wu and Ken Chu continued to perform and released three studio albums as quartet boy group F4. They ceased the usage of their name"F4" in 2007 at the objection of Japanese publisher Shueisha, that owns the copyright to Hana Yori Dango, in order to prevent any confusion with the Western and South Korean form of the LiveAction adaptations of their manga. The group has been renamed"JVKV", from the first initial of their quartet in order of age.
