Space Battleship Yamato

Space Battleship Yamato is actually a science fiction anime show comprising a classic spacecraft. It's also known to audiences as Space Cruiser Yamato. An edited and English-dubbed form of the show has been broadcast on tv and North American as Star Blazers. The first two seasons of this model were aired in Greece at 1981-82 as ????????????? ????. An Italian-language variant was broadcast in Italy under the name Star Blazers, and a variant was successfully shown under the name Viaje and Patrulha Estelar a la Ultima Galaxia or Astronave Intrepido at Spain and Latin America in Brazil. It's a show from anime's history, signaling a turn towards works that are serious and influencing works such as Mobile Suit Gundam and Neon Genesis Evangelion. Hideaki Anno credited it with sparking his interest in anime and has ranked Yamato his anime. Yamato was the first anime show or movie to get the Seiun Award, a feat not repeated until the 1985 Nausicaä of the Valley of the Planet.
