The Hathaways

The Hathaways is a 26-episode situation comedy that aired on ABC from October 6, 1961, to March 30, 1962, starring Peggy Cass and Jack Weston as suburban Los Angeles"parents" to a trio of acting chimpanzees. Weston portrays a realtor, Walter Hathaway. Cass is his wife Elinore, the"mother" and booking representative to the Marquis Chimps, appointed Chocolate, Charlie, and Enoch. Even the chimps also did a few commercials and had appeared on CBS's The Ed Sullivan Show. Supporting roles were full of character actress Mary Grace Canfield as Mrs. Amanda Allison, a housekeeper. Barbara Perry as Elinore's friend and friend, Thelma Brockwood, and Harvey Lembeck as Jerry Roper, the theatrical agent of this chimps, Another neighbour, Mrs. Harrison was played by Belle Montrose, '' the mom of comedian Steve Allen.
