Xavier: Renegade Angel
Renegade Xavier John Lee, Vernon Chatman, Jim Tozzi, and Alyson Levy created the American CGI fantasy comedic television series Angel. Wonder Showzen was created by Lee and Chatman as well. PFFR produced the show, which was animated by Cinematico. It premiered on Adult Swim at midnight on November4,2007, and on the Adult Swim website on November1, 2007. A nonlinear, confusing plot follows the funny musings of an itinerant humanoid pseudo-shaman and spiritual seeker named Xavier in the film Xavier. The show is noted for using a psychedelic, New Age lens to convey ideologically critical dark humour, surrealist, and absurdist humor. The show is usually graded TV-MA for violent, graphic, and often gory violence, as well as strong sexual material, racially/ethnically objectionable language, grotesque visuals, and content deemed "too morbid and too confusing for young viewers." Xavier: Renegade Angel aired from November4, 2007 to April16,2009, with a total of 20 episodes before being canceled owing to low ratings.
